Baby Bedding
I’m not sure about anyone else but when I found out I was having a little girl I was over the moon. The thought of being able to decorate a room for little girl was so exciting. I knew the color of her room needed to be the same as the colors I used for our wedding, Hot Pink, Lime Green and White.
Choosing Hot Pink and Lime Green is pretty random for m
e, the rest of my house is black, grey, white and red. But I love big bursts of bright colors that are muted by blocks of white. I guess I am obsessed with pink and lime green bedding.
To make Hannah’s nursery work with pink and lime green bedding I purchased all white furniture, I figured if we ever decided to have a second child at least I could re-use the white furniture.
- So all I purchased was 3 white items, the cot, change table and 2 floating wall shelves to go above the change table.
- Under the white cot I placed a Lime Green shag pile rug it cost me about $99.00 (probably the most expensive item comparatively speaking.
- I kept the wall their original painted colour a soft grey, on the walls I placed some removable butterfly stickers that were all different tones of pinks and different sizes.
- I placed two hot pink translucent butterfly lamps on the wall that have led lights in it, perfect lighting for late at night, they offer dull lighting for the night time feed.
- I purchased some Lime Green curtains to go over the top of our block-out blinds;
- 1 Lime Green Bin.
- 2 Hot Pink Oval shaped plastic bins;
- The last item was purchased by my husband which was 1 hot pink sun chair, the ones you use at the beach (with an umbrella on it, and no we didn’t put the umbrella up). At the moment all her little stuffed animals sit on it.
- 1 soft Aqua blue foot stool.
- 3 Lime Green canvas’s painted by my step mother the 2 outer paintings have roses on it and the middle one, which is centered above the cot has my baby’s name on it “Hannah Rose”
Put all of this together and you have one cute little room, you would think that this could look over the top the trick was to only choose 3 major colors and not to over do it with patterns. The bedding is in the same pink and lime green bedding color scheme but the colors are very soft. I wish I had a nice room like that when I growing up, Hannah loves the butterfly stickers she is always touching them and trying to kiss them, her imagination is already running wild!
